Specifying double-sided UV protection

The role of UV co-extrusion

UV co-extrusion creates a protective surface layer to improve weathering performance under outdoor UV exposure. Material, processing, environment, installation and maintenance also affect results.

Single-sided or double-sided

Single-sided UV suits designs with the protected face toward the main sun exposure. Double-sided UV addresses exposure on both faces. Confirm the configuration for the application.

Why layer thickness matters

Specify more than “UV protected”: agree target thickness, uniformity, inspection method and acceptance criteria. A configuration around 50μm can be discussed during technical confirmation.
